This is the second time we have stayed this year, the staff are very frindly, the food is very good and the rooms are very clean. The view friom the hotel is stunning, well worth the money and more, we will be returning again next year.

Had a brilliant couple of days at this Hotel. Lovely views of Loch Leven from our bedroom. Room wasn't quite to modern standard with dated decor and obvious water marks where roof had been leaking but it was very comfortable although a bit noisy with loose floorboards. However, very clean and had a good nights sleep on both nights. Service was excellent both in the bar and the dining room. Food was also very good and delivered to the table quickly. Real value for money with the dinner bed and breakfast offer. Would definitely go back.

Nice hotel, very warm and comfortable, room was a bit dated. Good service and staf very attentive and accomodating.Only negative was that the shower was too hot but this may have been because we could not fathom out how to control it. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.

Had a lovely stay. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Even though there was a bus party in both nights the service was first class. Have been to this hotel several times and never been disappointed. As usual the food was excellent and well presented

Superb food - great selection, well cooked and beautifully presented. Ballachulish is a good example of a traditional west coast of Scotland hotel. Stunning views from lochside rooms, including dining room. Hospitality is excellent - the owner takes time to check with each table in the dining room. It is clear some money has been spent modernising the hotel, but some quirky (I personally like these, but not everyone will) aspects are evident. For example, unbelievably loud and squeaky staircase, some pieces of furniture out of synch with others, room decorating that hasn't been well coordinated, etc. Personally, I'd go back in a flash and have no hesitation in recommending Ballachulish to others.

I had booked a feature room view of the loch thats the feature ,tired bedrooms ,flat pillows not great showers ,staff excellent food ok ,no aircon and badly needed if rooms all refurbed would probably go back as nice location

It was the first time we had stayed at the Ballachulish Hotel as we usually stay at the Isles of Glencoe but could not get booked up for when we wanted to come. I was most disappointed with the room we were allocated. It was very dark with one small window and was decorated with very dark green type wallpaper which made it even darker. The bathroom was very dated and the shower was very poor. When coming out of the bathroom into the bedroom you felt as though you were going uphill. The ceiling was papered but didn't look good. The doors of a couple of the rooms on either side were open so I had a look to see what standard they were. Totally different - they had lighter coloured wallpaper, more windows and much better bathrooms with modern showers. On a positive note the staff were all very helpful, food was nice, service good and the room was clean. On settling our bill I raised it with the receptionist and it was suggested if we return to ask for another room.

this hotel has gone downhill! there was no hot water for showering, tried everything. I ordered first course soup, and second course. the second course arrived first, said where is my soup, they brought it, so I had the two courses at the same time. didn't take my second course away till I ate my soup, oh no that would be too sensible? doubt if i'll book there again.terrible!

We enjoyed our stay immensely. We had a front facing room and the view was spectacular as was view from the dining room. The staff from every department of the hotel were most helpful. The food at both breakfast and dinner was delicious with a very wide variety at both, desserts were to die for!!We will definately be going back to this hotel again and also recommending it to family and friends.

The room, staff, food and public areas all exceeded our expectations, even although we were one hour late in dining due to a large group staying at the hotel. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked another stay with our family in November.

Fabulous location,the views were superb! The food was wonderful ,very friendly and helpful staff We requested a room near the car park as we were arriving by motor bike, our room overlooked it and we could use an exit door to off load our boxes....great Climbed Ben Nevis.....what a fab weekend....thank you

Filthy bathrooms, met with what looked like & smelt like feaces on toilet seat, & inside toilet, towels with stains, numerous hairs in baths, mouldy & unpleasant smell from drains filling bedroom, mattress with huge gap in it and springs sticking out resulting in sore back, disinterested unhelpful reception staff, fantastic restaurant staff, poor management response of less than 25% refund of Bill, as well as refusal to swap their offer of one night b&b into the monetary value as we would never set foot in another one of thier hotels after truly disgusting experience.

the hotel has been in the process of improvements for more than a year but much still needs to be done.Table tops in the dining room are still sticky with peeling varnish and the lack of directional signage more than a year after it was removed is a disgrace

Apart fromcertain dinner courses, although enjoying our stay at the hotel last November (2014), our recent stay was excellent. from our perspective, dinner quality, choice, and standard of presentation, has improved. As usual, room was comfortable, clean & functional. Staff, although as previous visits a number (resturant) struggled on occasions with language differences, were polite, attentive & courtious.

Pillows are very thin. Very noisey floor boards in bedroom corridors not gret ic you are a light sleeper.
