Clean comfortable room, good food at both dinner and breakfast

Hotel room was adequate, supposed to be “superior”, one set of curtains was hanging off the rails, a light in the part of the room with the wardrobe/mirror would have been useful? Bathroom floor was soaking every time the shower was used, shower was great but kept going hot/cold and had to keep adjusting temperature. Breakfast was fine although we did find most of the hot stuff was either lukewarm or cold eg beans, scrambled egg but choice was good. We ate in the hotel 2 nights out of our 3 night stay, food was lovely and the service was great, plenty of choice on the menu.

Hi I was not impressed with the hotel and left a day early. It was not the staff as they were nice. The room was very small and dated the window looked into the bins and rubbish area. The food was very poor and basic.I have visited a few hotels and this was the worst I have seen.i must say when I told the receptionist I was leaving she did offer us another room but I just wanted to go home.

Impressive building with fine views from the front. Room a bit tired looking and the place in general needs a bit of an upgrade. Food fine, breakfast buffet style and good quality. There is a beer garden but you need to buy your drinks at the bar then walk down past the hotel to get there. Tables littered with empty glasses, suggesting lack of staff. Gets a 6 out of 10.

Breakfast is great and overall great value for money. The staff are great but received a phone call after leaving the hotel asking to settle a bill from the restaurant. Never eat in the hotel restaurant and explained this which was accepted however was a little unsettling as it seems other residents could charge to another guest room without question! Needs to be reviewed by management.

Breakfast was excellent. Fantastic tasting haggis and black pudding. Hotel and rooms are a bit dated but still great value for money. Stayed in a superior double and room had a fantastic view and was spacious however the double bed was too small for a superior room. If staying again would stay in a twin with a loch view as bed together are much more spacious.

Bathroom floor , wall and bath had hairs on them also hair on bath towel. Did show receptionist she offered to change our room but as it was 8pm and were going for dinner we declined, room was dark and dingy, tv was small for size of room. Food in restuarants was overpriced, burgers were dry, chips were cold , no wine list , breakfast was OK but trays breakfast items kept in were very hot nearly burnt myself , definitely would not stay again

Rooms are dated beds were small floor in the bathroom was very loose and felt like you could fall through it at anytime. We also had to jam one of the windows closed as the handle was loose

Rated the room as a 4 as there was black mould underneath the window (I told a member of staff on departure), there was a dead wasp on the floor, dampness on the walls. The room didn’t have a view which was fine but there was litter outside the window. The rooms are very basic and a bit dated but we didn’t expect too much as we didn’t pay a lot but with the mould and dampness this could be improved. Food at the restaurant was lovely, we had steak pie which was great and the breakfast in the morning was nice. Staff were friendly.

We stay here quite a lot & it’s always pleasant and the staff are lovely. The room was not nice this time probably the worst one in the hotel, it was tiny and the generator outside the room window that looked on to a brick wall meant no sleep.

Beautiful atay! Staff were friendly, the view was amazing. Would happily go back. The food was delicious, great entertainment on the night time too. Throughly enjoy it.

Enjoyed another stay at the arrochar hotel. Room spacious and clean. Booked a loch view room but had scaffolding in front of the view, didn't spoil the view though which is fantastic. Buffet breakfast has everything you want. Only downside was the WiFi not working but good have some downtime from social media.

Had very pleasant break despite the miserable weather. Hotel in need of some TLC as the rooms especially are very tired, staff were extremely friendly & welcoming & food was really great. I was immediately put off having to push past the smokers at the entrance to hotel, and with all the cigarette butts lying at the entrance which is not welcoming. I appreciate it was pouring & blowing a gale so easier for smokers to stand at entrance & stay dry than walk to the designated smoking area with butt bin. I therefore was forced to walk through the smoke to enter & leave hotel which frankly has put me off returning.

Simply dreadful. Paid extra for a loch view, all fine if you like scaffolding. Asked about moving room and was told that no other rooms were available. Hotel wasn’t clean, bathroom was particularly bad and had damp on the ceiling as well as a socket that had a sticker on saying it was last PAT tested in 2017. Very tired and dated hotel, on arrival you are greeted with huge potholes and broken rusty signs at the front car park entrance. Several issues with the staff from the receptionist when we checked in being rude to the bar staff being more interested in using mobile phones rather than serving customers, the breakfast staff being unbelievably rude and telling his colleague when we arrived to “shove us up the back” while looking at his watch, despite us being within the times for breakfast service and then we had the receptionist who very loudly was telling someone on the other end of the phone how much she hated her job while customers were within earshot. The food was awful, I had a burger that was over cooked on the outside and raw in the middle and my partner had chicken that clearly wasn’t freshly made, in this location and with these prices the food should at least be edible and not processed rubbish. And finally, on our second day we debated going home giving up and going home. We decided to stay as we had already paid for the night, that was until 1am and with our neighbour making an ever increasing racket we cut our losses, packed and headed home, leaving our keys on the deserted reception desk. Upon calling the hotel the following day we were told by the receptionist that there had been a few complaints about the noise, on speaking to the manager we were informed that there had been no other complaints, blatant lies, which just about sums this place up perfectly. Do yourself a favour if you’re thinking of booking this place and don’t, I’ve regularly stayed in hotels for the last 30 years and this is quite frankly right up near the top of the worst.

This hotel site on a beautiful location but is badly in need of maintenance everywhere We had a loch view room was clean and warm needs TLC, food at the hotel was good staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for you in all area of hotel, we had wee highland dancers on for a wee while at night then a singer unti 10.30 , we had a great time at this hotel, only negative was the state it’s in

We had a great stay at this hotel, the food was great and that staff were very nice and helpful. The rooms are basic and could do with a refurb but are still comfy and clean. We had a Lochveiw room and right now the hotel has scaffolding at the windows but we still had a good veiw of he Loch and the hills.

Allocated to room 125 having arrived early and room being unavailable eventually having a nice loch view through the scaffolding. Some refurbs were apparent to shower however a crack in the basin and the floor I would suspect was baddly laid or rotted under the linoleum due to the creaking under foot. The bed was also unfit for purpose due to size and creaking when any movement is made. Food was accepable on the first night although we waited 20 minutes for a sweet menu , breakast was a self service buffet style affair food was ok but a bit of a circus attemting to get where you wanted to be.

Booked one night to add to a previous booking given as a present. This was our third stay in the past 2 years. Overall the stay was good. Breakfast has always been good on a self-service basis. Paid extra for a twin lochview hotel that was comfortable. Only downside was inconsistency in some facilities due, I suspect to insufficient staff. On Monday and Wednesday bar was available in the afternoon but on Tuesday was informed initially it would open at 17.00 when in fact it didn't open until 17.30. Staff were always polite and courteous. Overall would not discourage visitors as it remains good value for money.

The hotel is old fashioned, dated and decor is tired . The staff were lovely. Friendly and helpful. Dinner was amazing but breakfast buffet was cold and disappointing.
