Nice location and fantastic views. The staff were very friendly and the food in the bistro was good. The hotel restaurant though was a little too fancy for us with dishes such as wood pigeon and wild mallard. We stayed in the coach house and it was clean, comfortable and warm. In fact I had the best night's sleep I've had in months!

Lovely hotel. We had a light spacious room on the ground floor with lovely terrace. Setting gorgeous. Good food and friendly staff. Pool is really a splash pool which was only disappointment.

Very relaxing break. Maybe a bit too quiet for us and drinks a bit expensive but would return. Staff very good.

Made to feel very welcome from the moment we walked through the door. Food was beyond excellent and wortha visit on its own. Paid for upgraded room, which came with spa bath and shower, unusual to have to walk upstairs to access but would return in a flash.

The hotel was great.Classic Britain guaranteed the best available room. Our bed room must have been the only one without a view. Our view overlooked the hotel roof

The hotel is everything and more than advertised , beautiful settings and so well kept luxury rooms , food is amazing and can't rate this stay any higher , above all that what makes this place special is the excellent service by all staff , made to feel really welcome , if you ever read any negative comments about this hotel ignore them , definitely recommend this hotel again and will definitely be staying there again

found this a very relaxing hotel and the food and service excellent , however what let it down was the leisure facilities ( but I have been told upgrading in nov )

Absolutely stunning hotel and the best we have ever been to. We were on a special deal - 2 nights dbb with 3rd night bb added in. We were also to get the best room available. Imagine our shock and surprise when we arrived to be taken to the best room in the hotel - the Heelis suite complete with sunken jacuzzi bath, private stairway to swimming pool, large screen TV, huge bed and much more. The staff (to a man) were friendly, polite, cheerful and eager to please at al times. They all went out of their way to welcome us. No charge for playing pool, table tennis, accessing the computer for internet use to name just a few extras. The attention to detail was outstanding. Food was sensational and we will definitely be back here. We will also be telling all our friends and family to go visit. I could have cried when we left - back to reality now.

The bedroom was very clean and comfortable, not the most luxurious we've stayed in but certainly more than you'd normally expect for the overall price we paid. Staff are excellent, very friendly and the service at breakfast and dinner was excellent. Food is of a very good standard, plenty of choice at dinner and we had a really good breakfast each day. Overall - very happy with the value for money on the DBB deal we had.

We had a lovely relaxing break at the hotel where we celebrated my birthday. There was no problem with the need for a gluten free meal. We were disappointed that the mattress in Room 9 was not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Staff were really pleasant and the food was wonderful.

Our stay at Appleby Manor was most enjoyable. The room was acceptable even if slightly small. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel was as described. First class accommodation with excellent food and service. The only downside was that our booking showed the inclusion of a 5 course dinner on the 1st night, however we were told at the hotel that we could only dine up to the value of
