This is a lovely hotel, especially for young families. The bedroom we had was a lovely surprise, very modern and just my taste. The only thing that spoilt it was the mattress, very hard which is ok for some people but very lumpy as well. My husband and I had sore backs in the morning. This could easily be remedied by adding a mattress topper! Hope to go back with friends soon. Will definitely use Classic Britain again thank you .

a very enjoyable stay at the Hydro again. The food was excellent in the Meikle Restaurant, pity they don't vary the menu as much as before.

Had a great overnight stay on 14.04. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. I have to have a gluten free diet and there are always plenty of coices for me. Hotel is always very clean, and tidy, bar prices are slightly steep,

This was the third time we stayed at the Crieff Hydro. We enjoyed our stay very much and thought the food was better quality than last time - introducing a different signature dish each day for each course is a welcome addition especially if you are staying for a few days. Service was very good and all staff were polite, courteous and enthusiastic. The weather wasn't very good but it didn't matter as we enjoyed sitting in the Winter Garden reading, having tea and watching the world go by! Will definitely return and would recommend this hotel to one and all.

Excellent weekend yet again . Food , facilities and staff first class . Only gripe was our room was next to lift which was a bit noisy later at night , but all in all great relaxing weekend.

We booked two rooms at this hotel - a twin and a double but on checking-in we were told they had only been told of a two times double room booking. Our guests staying in the twin room would have preferred a proper twin room and not just adjoining beds re-made with two duvets etc and still together. Having said that they didn't complain to the hotel. In addition to that their toilet hadn't been cleaned and they had to call house-keeping when they arrived. Our room whilst it was clean - the toiletries in the room were 4 little bottles of shampoo - no shower gel etc. Luckily we had brought our own! Our room had a little fridge and a safe but our guests room did not, having said that they had a view! If either of these things are important - I would suggest you request them on booking. We stayed on a dinner B&B basis and ate in the main restuarant each night. The food and the service was very good but my only complaint was that it would be better if there were more changes to the menu each night. When we booked we asked if the two rooms could be beside each other if possible and whilst they were not immediately beside each other they were very close - so we couldn't complain. I know the review sounds critical - but this hotel is certainly for foodies!

Food was excellent. Room very comfortable. Check in/out stress-free. Only cricism is that the victorian spa is a little overpriced given there are not very many loungers and no robes etc provided.

Stayed at Crieff Hydro on many occassions, this being the worst, room was next to the lift make sure you do not get put in room 242 guests coming out of lift with no thought for other guests shouting and singing, room was like being on a boat at the window YOU could run down the floor and run backup again, not to good when you have had a few, will think about going back again.Staff are friendly and food is extremely good value for money.

We really appreciate these kind comments regarding the Hydro staff and food. However, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss the less successful parts of this reviewer's stay, if they would like to contact us.

We booked on a Sunday night savers deal which included our DBB. This is our second overnight stay here. The last time we visited the hotel it was in the middle of refurbishment, so when we arrived back their was a bit of a WOW factor at the reception. We got into our room we stayed in room 145. When we arrived we dumped our bags and headed straight for the Victorian spa which is great and very relaxing. Our room was ok I wouldn't say amazing there was a lot of black mould on the wall around the bathroom door and you could see the wall paper coming off the wall and where it was all black, also on the back of the curtains there was black with mould as well. The floor was all different level and nothing sat straight. Also the lamp shade in the corner beside the window was broke. If I had being staying for longer than one night then I would have been asked to move. 5 The service at the hotel was really good apart from the Meikle bar where it was really slow. 9 The food was great so I gave it a 10

Hotel reply...

We were delighted with the score rating of 10/10 for food and 9/10 for service overall. It was, however, frustrating that the bedroom accommodation let the side down on this occasion. This is not representative of our usual high standard and we would have appreciated the chance to provide an alternative bedroom. Sorry for any disappointment.

This was my 6th stay at Crieff Hydro - the first booked through Classic Britian. I go because usually with friends because I like the fact the that you can arrive early and use the facilities (pool/lunch/beauty salon) before you get access to your room. I was disappointed having booked a facial for my 12 years old daughter two weeks before (after speaking directly to the beauty salon staff) to be told on the day she could only have a mini-facial because of her age. I had stated her age when booking. The mini-facial took half the time but cost almost as much as the full facial

Hotel reply...

This was clearly not our finest hour. It seems that communication went awry in relation to the beauty treatment and bedroom allocation. This was not helped by the towel debacle. We couldn't be sorrier - particularly as this was your 6th stay at the Hydro. We'd appreciate the chance to discuss this with you personally if you'd care to get in touch.
