Just back from a 2 night stay at the riverside Lodge irvine,check in easy and reception area very nice and welcoming, our room was on the first floor which was OK needing some tlc ,( bed lumpy and uncomfortable) was on the mhb dbb deal with wine and dinner on first night, dinner was good restaurant was nice,,,, Unfortunately the service from waiting staff not so good ,when we finished dinner was asked if we would like to see the dessert menu,, after 30 minutes wait for said menu we gave up ( restaurant not that busy at time) in morning came down for breakfast, was asked our room number,,, wasn't asked if we had been to hotel before, just told to pick a table no explanation on how the breakfast service worked,, also on both mornings was put off by gentleman sitting down for breakfast with his pyjamas on,hallway and stairs on way to our room had not been hooverd or cleaned, and glasses sitting outside of another room for the two nights we were there, have used mhb on many occasions in the past ( and will continue to do so ) But I wouldn't say this was a four star hotel.

We like the hotel. Modern and very comfortable. The only little grumble was the breakfast. The items were running out faster than the demand.

Hotel was lovely the restaurant service was not great sat for about 15 min waiting for starter plates to be removed one of the meals was chicken when it came it was a small piece of chicken one potato and green beans covered in sauce very disappointing

Was so disappointed this visit. There was some sort of party night on where everyone met in reception before hand and the noise was horrendous. My husband and myself had to text each other as we couldn't hear what each other were saying. If we had been warned about this we would have chosen another date. Also pillows in room were so badly stained , they obviously don’t get checked often. After asking reception to change them, this was done and nice clean ones were put in their place.

Another fantastic overnight stay. This is our fourth time at Riverside Lodge and we are never disappointed. Lovely clean room with a welcoming bottle of wine. Had a lovely 3 course dinner and enjoyed relaxing afterwards in the comfy bar area. Delicious buffet breakfast the following morning. Cannot fault this place as the staff are very friendly and polite. Also visited Irvine beach to watch the sunset around 6pm which I would highly recommend. We look forward to our next visit.

Four of us spent a night here on a DBB basis. On first impressions the reception area was lovely and the rooms nice and spacious. The rooms need a bit of an update and some areas in our room were a bit dusty and stained. However, the bed was very comfortable and I had a great sleep. The room was cool unlike most hotel rooms which are far too hot even when the radiator is low. The two course meal included in the price was very good, with enough choice for everyone. 3 in our group also had dessert which they said was tasty. The wine we had in our room on arrival was also nice. Breakfast was buffet style and there was a decent choice of food which we all enjoyed. Tea and coffee could’ve been warmer but I just made another coffee back in the room. Overall we had a nice time and would likely go back again. Thank you.

was lovely & clean, food was fabulous, had king prawn temperature, steak & and sticky toffee pudding. The room was situated at the back of the hotel & had a lovely view, but in the morning our room was across from laundry & store cupboard so was very noisy, he had a late check out but the weekly check of the fire alarm went off at 11.05, overall had a great stay, but avoid rooms 126 & 127

Lovely overnight stay need more staff at dinner when serving drinks as bar deals with lounge area too. Bathrooms a bit tired.

Great stay food great staff great But there was a pair of gents underpants outside our room (we had paid to upgrade to a courtyard room with patio doors) and an empty beer bottle outside and there was broken glass on the path at the gazebo Hoping to return in April with friends and having again paid extra for same room hope these things can be addressed This is a really nice hotel which we visit on several occasions it would be such a shame if standard's are allowed to slip

sorry to say this was my first visit with my wife to this hotel following some issue in finding the hotel due to wrong road signs we experience the following wine costs plus discrepancies in cider prices and room issues ie room 115 cold due rear window with problem with seal , bathroom door fault and needed to bang it shut , hot rail faulty as was overhead light which I reported on my departure on a plus note hotel staff well mannered and helpful , food excellent as was our price for room

Family weekend away for a couple of days for my husband's birthday took our youngest our 13 year old daughter lovely hotel staff really friendly and very helpful lovely hotel room was great too drink prices are fantastic too defo be back
