Really lovely foyer, staff very friendly, food amazing. Only small complaint was that the room needed upgrading. We had a room facing houses, did ask to change but told no. Next evening spoke to another couple who were in their element with their huge room with two large beds. , we had hole in duvet cover from cigarette burn and the shower curtain was really damp smelling. Did report this on leaving as it wasn’t a huge problem, although you could smell shower curtain during the night. We would return but would ask for different room.

The hotel was very nice and the staff were all friendly and helpful etc. However they were not too well organised. At breakfast on 2nd day we sat for 20 mins waiting on our breakfast. Never got it all. Got part of it ,so we just left without the rest. I felt if u needed to order a drink they were very slow to serve the tables and I had to go to the bar to get served. Plus tables were not cleaned very well. Was a shame but we dont plan to return or advise others to go.

Excellent overnight stay, abundant covid 19 precautions in place. Rooms good, nice and clean. Food good, reasonable choice and plentiful. Service excellent, all staff polite and professional.

Lovely hotel and friendly staff. First room was very disappointing with paper hanging off walls. However on requesting a different room this was done. Food was excellent. Understanding hotel being refurbished and not all rooms done yet.

Quite disappointed in our stay. Almost booked the two night deal, but having left too long, could only book the one night. Outside impression of hotel was good and the temp check on arrival, check-in, and reception were fine. Room big enough, but furniture a little tired/chipped. Had two almost double beds, but only 3 pillows between two of us, with no extras in room. My wife's dinner was not all at same temperature. It was hot enough to eat immediately, but had to rush. Breakfast was terrible in morning. My wife couldn't eat hers, as most items were cold. She left at side of our table, hoping to catch attention of staff, but by time we had finished the brick hard toast, and our one small cup of tea and coffee, she was eventually approached and asked if everything was okay. She mentioned that breakfast was cold and they offered to replace, but this was a good 30 mins after serving us, so was a bit late by that point. Having looked at this hotel for a while, we had hoped for much better. We have stayed in 3 star hotels in the surrounding area in recent weeks, and these have offered much better service overall, during what we know is a difficult time.

Would like to thank all the staff especially Ellie at reception, who went above and beyond to help make our stay with my family for my 60th birthday so special. She dealt with an issue we had with our 1st room with such efficiency, nothing was a bother, she went out her way to check we were having a good time and called us personally to thank us for a small tip we left. In such difficult times for everyone she is a credit to her employer. Lovely hotel, lovely food and all the right measures in place to keep you safe in this awful pandemic. Fantastic value will definitely go back.

would have scored food and service higher but for the breakfast on both counts. 1st morning ordered vegetarian breakfast to be told there would be a 15 min wait for the sausages. service was nothing to do with staff but the hotel decision on methods left the diner to ask for salt/pepper. no marmalade/ jam offered - toast served with butter on main plate - no side plate. coffee / tea by cup why not pot. not a relaxing event. food was offered buffet style next morning still no veggie sausages available - food lukewarm - food server on hot plate was inappropriate in her sleeveless top - always leaving to go to kitchen instead of kitchen staff coming to server with food - no communication between the two. reception area was well appointed and attention to detail in the decor was beautiful staff were attentive and pleasant

Fabulous hotel and well organised to protect guests during the Covid restrictions. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic. Lovely clean room. Staff were very helpful and polite and always ensured safety of guests. Really appreciated all the efforts made as I am in the vulnerable group with cancer. Never once felt insecure. Great price for dinner, wine, breakfast and room. Would have no hesitation booking again. Thank you.

Lovely hotel, very welcoming entrance. Modern, lots of seating available in the bar/ reception area as well as an outdoor bar area. Room was very spacious and modern. Bathroom quite dated compared to bedroom but for the price it was ideal. Our evening meal was good, very fast service. Only complaint was the Eton mess was awful no meringue at all! Would definitely return to this hotel.

Impressed with their Covid 19 precautions. Temperature taken on entry and alcohol gel at all doors. Room clean with real mugs (other hotel we stayed at had paper cups). Staff were pleasant and helpful (all wearing masks although we didnt have too.)Had dinner in the hotel. Food very good.

Paid extra for a delux room to be given a room that had two beds in it and was old and dated to the point I called reception to ask was I in right room Room was very noisy when people were in the corridor so much so we were wakened at 2 am 3am 430am with other guests slamming doors and shouting in corridor Dinner wasn’t available till 830pm Soup had a bit of thin bread instead of a roll Some of food was hot some was cold Went for breakfast at 730am was self service again some of it was cold some was hot Tea coffee were stewed as self service Main area was beautiful the room and the noise was a total let down Shower wouldn’t work so left hotel not getting washed and totally tered as was woken up a lot during night I wouldn’t stay again and thankfully only booked it for one night
