Four of us had a two night stay at the Riverside we had a great time lovely hotel food was good staff very helpful clean and tidy been a few times and will be back again

Nice enough hotel very disappointed in our room with very little privacy .we had to keep the curtains closed for the entire stay as their was a housing estate that looked right onto the bedroom.

We received a friendly welcome. Our room was on the first floor and we found the step risers quite high which caused a little difficulty both ascending and descending. We had booked a twin room but had been given a double room which we just accepted. The was scalding and there was no notice of caution required. The shower was over a bath and as we are both in our mid-seventies, it was not perfect. When using the shower, the water temperature varied considerably between scalding and freezing. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and the food was delicious. The hotel is well located for seeing various parts of Ayrshire. All in all, the hotel offered good value for money.

Excellent hotel, food was really good & all staff very welcoming. Reception / dining room really modern decor however rooms not to the same standard. Will defo be booking again before the deal ends.

Hotel reception and bar area are lively. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good. Room is as a bit dated and tired . Could do with a refurb. Corridors were dirty when we arrived at 3pm and this was still the same the next day. Think must have been a wedding the night before we arrived . A little disappointing. Breakfast in morning wasn’t great but dinner night before was good x

Good no frills hotel. We were only offered a set menu rather than the a la carte with an allowance we were expecting but we were happy with the choices. Couldn't expect much more at this price.

Friendly staff,quick easy check in,room was big and very clean.small bathroom for size of room but more than adequate. Both dinner and breakfast were very good.

Hello the service at dinner was terrible we waited over a hour fir our main course, and such a long wait fir our dessert. we were so disappointed We had to move to our third room. We had requested a twin room first room was a double, second room their had been some one in it dirty towels lying and beds had been used. The third room was a lot better though the noise from the radiator was terrible. We didn’t complain about the third room we just wanted to settle.

Lovely room upgrade for my husband's 60th birthday.Staff were really helpful and food was really good.Had paid for a 3 course meal bit waited 45 minutes for dessert and didn't receive it.When finally offered it couldn't wait any longer

Bit disappointed room very tired! In need of refurbishment despite deal was best room available!! Staff at reception lovely however in Restuarant lack training and experience asked for mayo for my burger given tarter sauce! Ordered tea but had to ask for milk x sugar? Breakfast bit of a fiasco very small buffet tray only one or possibly two can use at same time! Big que asked for fried egg as not on buffet was told to ask another waitress so had to leave que and rejoin for rest of breakfast ( 7 people in front!) 9.30am no potato scones left offered fried bread?? Don’t think we will be back! Sorry!

Sadly would not recommend. Initially appears lovely when you walk into the main lobby/bar area. Different story as you go upstairs. Rooms are very basic and not the cleanest. Booked dinner and that was a disaster. Rude staff with no customer service skills. Burnt my finger on a plate that was literally red hot yet the food on it was just warm. Dinner was below average. Everyone was complaining. Apparently the chef was off and the bar manager was filling in. If this was the case then they have done their best but realistically there should be a stand in chef that knows what they are doing or stick to a simple bar snack menu. The restaurant manager was polite and offered us free drinks which was appreciated. Only thing I really could not fault was the young guys working behind the bar. They were fab and although obviously really busy they remained calm and served with a smile.

Excellent value for money. Food was really good and staff very friendly. We have stayed here a few times now and wouldn’t look for anywhere else in Irvine.

Nice hotel. Too many guests wandering around without Masks. These were mostly English who obviously did not know the rules in Scotland are different. The Hotel staff chose to ignore this issue instead of asking them to cover up. We asked for our complimentary bottle of wine with our meal and were told it does not apply in the restaurant.

Lovely and very stylish hotel, extremely clean and friendly staff. Food was excellent. We were also given an upgrade room which was very spacious and patio doors leading to the garden area. Loved our stay and would definitely return and recommend

Another lovely stay at The Riverside. We have stayed here several times and love it. Great food, staff are very pleasant. Hopefully we will be visiting again in the very near future!
