Relaxing stay at this quiet hotel. Rooms were comfortable and staff were pleasant and friendly. Booking dinner and breakfast was easy but breakfast supplies were a bit hit or miss. First day great second day not so great. Staff greeted us and were really nice and apologized for not having this or that. All together a really relaxing break with good food good drink and nice walks.

Breakfast wasn't explained to us how it worked, we were just seated and left , and was only given a teapot but no milk. Another table sat 10 mins after us, we over heard the lady that sat them explain how breakfast works and thats how we found out. Didn't rate the cooked breakfast, thought all the meat products tasted the same. Dinner was fish and chips which was decent enough, we had a side of cheesy garlic bread ordered but we had to ask for it again , think was forgotten about, which was fine as human error, but the boy brought us plain garlic bread and when we says it was supposed to be cheesy , he insisted there was cheese on it. There was definitely no cheese on it. Was also burnt around the edges as if grilled too quickly at high heat to rush the cooking as had been forgotten about. Rooms were spotless and beautiful view and would still come back and give it another try.

There's trouble at t' mill. Such a shame but things have gone downhill. Never mind the eclectic décor in the reception that looks like a demented four-year old has used every crayon in the box to colour the furniture. And the tables look like someone just pained them with a brush and some white gloss paint. Doesn't seem very four start to me. First o, we had to ask for the sheets on the bed to be changed when we arrived as they were badly stained and pretty grotty looking. Also, you don't get complimentary water in the room to drink, or biscuits for your tea anymore. Went to the bar for a coffee, and the coffee machine was broken. House-keeping didn't turn up the first day to do our room even though we asked three times, and in the end told them not to bother as we wanted back in the room. We needed toilet roll and asked for some to be sent up, three times but it never arrived, and when we asked about it again, we were told they would have to send an email to ask for toilet-paper??? Had to actually leave the room to go and use another toilet in the building. The attached gym was advertised as opening at 7am but actually opened at 9am. When we asked the staff in the hotel about the opening times, no-one seemed to know. The sauna was dusty and had toe-nail clippings on the floor. Sadly, the sauna just didn't heat up either! Cutbacks I guess. When we checked out of the hotel, obviously - the bill was wrong. Only a fiver, but I refuse to pay for things I didn't actually order. It's a real shame because this used to be a gem of a hotel, the setting is brilliant, and some of the staff are really trying their best. I question the new management.

The hotel looks lovely but the food and service leaves a lot to be desired. Was supposed to have a bottle of wine in room on arrival, waited 2 hours then phoned reception, it then took a further hour and a half to appear. They need to work on their portion sizes. My starter was huge but my friend was given 2 arancini balls and service was slow. The breakfast buffet was largely inedible. Bacon you could snap in half and potato scones you could not cut into. Ordered a tea and coffee and got served them twice as the waitress was not paying attention. Overall for the money we paid I don't think it was worth it.

Check in fine. Very friendly man. Room had a quilt cover with dirty marks on which was changed. Lovely big room and great location. Lovely meal at night. Breakfast bit of a disaster, no bread for toast, no bacon, beans and hardly any scrambled eggs. Has to ask for everything and it was always "just coming' Pool and steam room fine, sauna wasn't hot though. Hotel does have some issues but manager knows this and has improvements in progress. Yes we would stay again

We had a nice stay room was lovely with beautiful views. Dinner was OK but it said in the deal it was a 2 course meal but didn't specify it has to be a starter and a main. I much prefer a main and a dessert but this wasn't possible I did ask but was told no it wud have to be a starter and a main. Breakfast could have been doing with being a bit fresher was buffet style and pretty dried up. Was a nice stay other than that.

Stayed at New Lanark Mill Hotel on Saturday 8th April for one night, room was lovely & clean, we had river view which was beautiful, our complementary wine had a lovely welcoming card with it, we have stayed here before and really enjoyed it so peaceful with lovely walks, the restaurant Dinner was fine, Breakfast was abit different this time instead of the waiters/waitress taking your cooked breakfast order it was already out for to select yourself which I found wasn't that warm, they only took tea/coffee or if you wanted a different egg or different cooked breakfast they took that order, the breakfast staff were run of there feet ( I felt sorry for them), overall the Hotel is beautiful & staff are lovely, I would recommend this hotel.

It was lovely to return to one of our favourite hotels and to be looked after by John Stirrat, and good to hear the rooms were full. There were a few little problems but team dealt with them easily, and look forward to returning again. We had requested a river view room, but they didn’t manage to organise it,I missed the bath as it was an accessible room, but never mind.

We had such a great stay we booked an extra night. The hotel is lovely, staff are extremely helpful and friendly, food was delicious and the heritage centre on the doorstep is worth a visit. We have used hotel breaks for lots of stays over the last 2 years and would pick this hotel over all the others. Fantastic service all round.

Hotel staff were approachable and polite, but special mention has to go to receptionist Amanda and Bar person Leanne for there above and beyond service !! Spa facilities we're good and the steam room was hot !! when it was expelling the steam . The pool person lift can be doing with being renewed or taken away. We would recommend paying extra for one of the suites, very comfortable and relaxing. I was not at all happy when we found out that the visitor centre was closed on a Tuesday and Wednesday , this was one of the reasons why we had booked this hotel , more so because my hotel breaks should have let us know before we had set off. But overall we would not hesitate to book again in the future.

Having been regulars at New Lanark Mill Hotel for several years, I can honestly say this is the first time I've felt disappointed with my stay. The evening meal was a disaster - burger which looked like a piece of old shoe leather. No sirloin steak, no rump steak and no steak pie. (Did the chef forget to order steak by any chance?). Breakfast followed suit with no orange juice available, bare continental/buffet and cooked breakfast of poor material quality. Sausages cheap replacement for previous visits, bacon tiny sliver and not tasty and no black pudding - this was a first for this hotel as the food quality has ALWAYS been superb. We did complain and apologies from our waitress and receptionist the following morning were very gracious. This will NOT stop my husband and I returning as we have never before had to complain, and I can only hope there is never a recurrence of this episode

Our stay at the hotel was not all that we hoped for. The breakfast was disappointing. Some items for the cooked breakfast were not available and then the breakfast was not cooked properly. For example the haggis and the square sausage and also the potato scones were hard, the eggs not fully cooked. We did let the staff know. The replacement egg was also not cooked properly.

We stayed here 23rd & 24th March. Check in was great. The receptionist was very pleasant & had a great sense of humour. Our room was number 20 on the 6th floor. We upgraded to a deluxe room & boy was it worth it! What a beautiful big room. Spotlessly clean. The carpet looked brand new.( no problem walking on your bare feet). Beautifully furnished & had a lovely comfortable super king bed. The bathroom was roomy & spotless with a nice shower over a bath. Our deal included a bottle of wine which was sitting on the table with a lovely welcome note. The room had stunning views over the river. I had a back neck & shoulder massage & it was very relaxing. The pool area is lovely. Very clean & the water is a nice temperature. The food was lovely in the evenings. There was some staffing issues in the kitchen on the Friday night but it did not spoil our experience. Breakfast is cooked to order & very nice & warm. The bar is nice & the pleasant young girl is a dab hand at making lovely tails. All staff we encountered were pleasant. We took a walk up to see the falls. Stunning views, definitely worth the effort. We have visited New Lanark Hotel often in the past but not since covid so it was lovely to be back & have the lovely experience we remember from the past.
