Really enjoyed our stay, rooms were very clean and comfortable as was the whole hotel. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Meals were excellent with plenty choice. The only disappoint was that the mill experience was closed on the days we stayed. I would definately stay again.

Myself, my husband and our friends had a fabulous midweek break. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and meals were plentiful and tasty.

This is our second visit. New Lanark is an exceptional site and well worth a visit. The Mill1 Hotel is a very good mill conversion, with comfortable and spacious rooms. The restaurant is well run with excellent, attentive staff and very good food, nicely presented. Unfortunately, housekeeping leaves something to be desired. The telephone was not working, there was a large crack in the toilet bowl and the empty box of tissues in the room was not replaced. Having said that, I presume that these matters will be taken care of promptly. We will be returning ourselves.

Excellent one night stay. Staff without exception were welcoming and friendly, the room was clean, well appointed and spacious and the food delicious, and all for great value for money too. We will certainly return.

This was our 4th time at this hotel and once again it was perfect. Its our favourite hotel now. Jade checked us in and she was very efficient and friendly. We were in room 13 this time,weve been there already. Dinner is always delicious. James served us on the first night,Cameron served us the 2nd night and Im so sorry I can't remember the name of the man who served us in the last night. Every single meal was delicious. The next morning Sol served us for Breakfast the next two mornings it was Isabelle who served us. Again out meals was great. We had a cream tea on the last day which was also delicious. The rooms are always spotless and bedding and towels are pristine white. Coffee and tea and hot chocolate are well stocked along with sugar,milk and biscuits. We,re booked again 11th April for 4 nights. We've booked the Clyde Suite as its for our Golden anniversary. We had a chance to look at the suite and its perfect for us. Our deal this time was great value as usual. Once again your company are excellent and customer service is second to none.

Beautiful hotel in a tranquil setting. Lovely peaceful and scenic walk along the Falls of the Clyde. Unfortunately swimming pools boiler had broke so we couldn't use leisure facilities. Visitors centre was also closed and only opens at weekends. Good choice of food on dinner menu. Food was lovely and well presented. Breakfast had a good variety on offer too. Bedroom was overlooking the river which was lovely. Quite a lot of cobwebs on ceiling and walls. Skirting boards were thick with dust as were bedside lamps and the TV plug.

Superb food, lovely staff, great location. Unfortunately standard of housekeeping wasn't up to par with lots of dust and cobwebs in room plus dirty chairs that hadn't been cleaned in a while. Bedding had also seen better days. Would stay again but expect better standards of cleanliness

Was disappointed that pool, spa and heritage site were closed and hotel bar didn’t open till 3pm Felt uncomfortable in the restaurant as given table very close to another person when plenty other tables available.

Comfortable room but we should have requested a walk-in shower. All staff helpful and friendly. Only negative was cooked breakfast arriving at same time as cereal. Will definitely be back.

Had a really good overnight here. Although leisure facilities were available we didn’t use them. Having the weekend markets was an added bonus within the grounds of New Lanark. Accommodation and food were great. I would definitely recommend this break.

Had previously stayed here and scored a 5. However this time was different and we were disappointed. At dinner we were advised there would be a delay due to a shortage of chefs. Initially it didn't bother us and we were not in a rush. We waited over an hour for 2 starters one of which was a salad. When it did arrive 2 out of the 5 ingredients were missing. I told the waiter and on checking with kitchen advised that the missing items hadn't been delivered. I was offered an alternative but declined due to the amount of time we had waited. Husband's steak was medium rare instead of medium well and my main was supposed to have Stornoway black pudding but it definitely wasn't Stornoway. Other guests arriving after us were served before us and this occurred again at breakfast. There was also a delay at breakfast and several other guests were complaining. Felt sorry for the waiting stuff who were trying their best but being let down by the kitchen.

Another great stay , lovely staff , great food . Only disappointment was the suite we booked it was bland had a old fashioned wall cabinet which was huge and silly trinkets and battery candles that didnt work also a diffuser with no liquid in it . Sofa bed was stained. Also shower seal needs replaced very mouldy . When we stay again i wouldn't pay for upgrade as we expected more from the room . Standard rooms are just as nice .

Absolutely first class break - staff , room, facilities, dinner all were excellent and excellent value for money. This was our second visit and will definitely be back . A real hidden treasure!

Hotel and staff were lovely. Meal at night was great. Shame about the breakfast. We booked breakfast for 9.15am. We arrived bang on time, had to wait at least 5 minutes in a queue of 6 people (in a very small space, just outside the lift) before we got seated. We got our Tea right away, which was good, then toast appeared at the table (not asked if we even wanted any, or had any alergies etc). Cooked breakfast order taken, 25 minutes later it arrived. We had to send it back as the eggs, sausage, beans etc were cold. Apologies and told another would be on its way. At 10.20am, I asked the waitress if they had forgot about us, she apologised and disappeared into the kitchen. I also asked if we could have more Tea and perhaps the Orange juice, we had asked for. At 10.25am we finally got our warm breakfast, more Tea and the Orange juice. Very disappointed with the service at breakfast, compared to the evening meal. (definitely not enough staff). Not the first time this has happened to me before, when I stayed at New Lanark Mill in August too. We finally finished our breakfast and got back to our room for 10.40am, which didn't give us much time to pack up and leave for 11am.

Fabulous stay. Hotel is beautiful, the food is delicious (other than overcooked eggs at breakfast) ! Staff are amazing. The heritage site is most interesting. Will definitely be returning in the future. ?

Don't arrive earlier than 3pm as you will not be allowed to book in. Then 3pm arrives and the reception is busy, with some customers having no regard for social distancing with no 1m spot on the floor . Not good when you have an older member of your household who has not been out for 18months. Then you have the humiliation of the receptionist asking you 5 times your name, telling you you have no booking when the other receptionist had already booked you in. Then you are asked to pay for the 2 rooms which she thinks comes to around £95 which is the cost of one room. Hotel must be looking a fortune. The receptionist then tells everyone who you booked through, no confidentiality. The waiters, room and food were all amazing. Until booking out then pantomime starts again. I advise that I will be paying for both rooms where again she tries to charge me for one. I explain that two rooms come to double the amount she advised and that I had applied a voucher through this site a week previous so the amount was actually £90 to pay. Whilst I was trying to explain her error she spoke over me the whole time, until I eventually showed her my booking from my hotel. Sorry but training is definitely required with reception staff I was not the only one that experienced these issues, other repeat customers were complaining. Hotel brilliant and everything else cannot fault. This is a hotel I have been to about 10 times and cannot fault any other aspect other than reception.

We had such a lovely stay here. Rooms were clean and bed was very comfortable. The swimming pool was fab but the jacuzzi was very cold so we didn’t spend much time there. The food was outstanding at dinner and breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a strict check in time of 3pm and you cannot check in even 5 minutes before. We will definitely return.

Had to wait till EXACTLY 3pm (no sooner than) to get checked in,we arrived early so hoped they could maybe let us into room but absolutely no chance of that, we saching several couples getting the same brush off, it wasn't as if the hotel was busy,but there we were standing in a line like school kids waiting on the call. Got into room only to find it rather chilly,finally had to call reception at 5-20pm as I thought maybe heating was on some kind of timer! Was told that I had to wait as she was doing 'check in'.... this is 2hrs 20mins after we had been checked in,if she had maybe not been so stringent on her 3pm check in times maybe she could have attended quicker! Anyway,found myself phoning down an hour later ( now it really is cold) and eventually they turned up only to take thermostat away and come back with new batteries fitted. Been here several times and again had the evening meal only to wait 40mins after Initial order to get get starter! If they ask what time suits you for dinner and they see that the time you've pick is busy,why not say and it would be just as easy to come down an hour later rather than taking the booking and the girl is run ragged trying to keep all the clients happy.Will also point out (room 17) they really do need to change that mattress as there wasn't two springs in any one line working together,soon as I sat on the bed you could feel the springs had had better days.
