Hotel was a bit tired but spotlessly clean room food and entertainment was really good had a great weekend

We had a very enjoyable evening however there was a shortage of staff serving the tables in the function room which led to my food being just warm.The breakfast in the morning was substantial and well presented. I would recommend this hotel

arrived to find superior room I paid extra for given to someone else. Hotel decanted him and when we got in room we found bath had been used, coffee and biscuits consumed - bath was never cleaned and coffee and biscuits not replaced. Meal served and vegetables were stone cold. It appeared the "act" had a tiff and only about 20 minutes of Blues Brothers followed by a solo act, then music from an unattended laptop with no facility for "requests". Plus note - staff were all very polite and tried to be helpful - the "OH God" comment when I gave my name to check in was quite amusing. Breakfast was very good. Room was cold with the only radiator being in the bathroom! All in all not a great experience but well aware of the "you get what you pay for" idiom.

So sorry that your allocated room was given to someone else by mistake, the room should have been checked before you were given access. This issue is being investigated as to why the bath was not cleaned and the biscuits etc not replaced. I would appreciate it if you could email me with further details sales@tintohouse.com as I feel many of these issues could have been sorted out at the hotel by the hotel manager and staff so your stay may have been much more enjoyable. Hot water was cold, despite being run for a long tome as advised by the receptionist. Bedroom windows were draughty. Food was nice but could have been warmer. Staff very hardworking.Entertainment good, but dance floor lethal.

We enjoyed out night at the Tinto Hotel, the entertainment was great as was the food, the only fault was that the hotel was cold and the bathrooms were in need of a revamp, but there was a sign up stating that this was in the process. Would definitely return as it was good value for money

Hotel totally understaffed! The ones that were there worked themselves into the ground but the wait for everything was terrible. The hotel was also FREEZING and most guests could be seen with their coats on. Will use Classicbritain again but not to go to this hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. I am terribly sorry your stay was not enjoyable. The issue with the heating system has now been fixed. The management team are recruiting more staff, it was unfortunate that there was someone off sick during your stay putting more work on the remaining staff members. Once we have increased our team and refurbished all the bedrooms (due for completion April) would you consider giving us another chance? All the best from the Tinto team.

Rooms that have not been refurbished are very tired but clean. Only other comments would be thatt the Tinto management needs to get the heating issues resolved as the function suite and some of the bedrooms are freezing !

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are working on improving our facilities, a couple of rooms have either only bath or shower but the rest have both. When boking hotels it is always best to put a request in for something that you would specifically want such as low floor or shower/bath. I am glad you enjoyed the breakfast. Only complaint was a tear in the duvet cover which we didn't notice until going to bed. Bed was clean however. Entertainment was very good. For the price it was good value.

our stay at Tinto was very enjoyable . all the staff were very helpful and friendly. I wish to express our special thanks to the managing director, who very kindly picked up myself and friends from the town of Biggar when we were unable to get a taxi .The food and entertainment absolutely fab, and we will certainly return again for another excellent tribute deal .

Stayed 10th January Rod Stewart Tribute, he was on stage for nearly 3 hours, brilliant performance from a first class entertainer. This was our 3rd visit to Tinto House and the food and service were again first class. All staff very helpful and friendly. We paid for an upgraded room and were lucky to get the suite this time, which was a bonus.

Great night, rooms a little tired but owners updating all rooms. Hotel has character we had a suite with very large bedroom and lounge, TV's in both rooms. Four poster bed (Coulter Suite room 40)good value, nice dinner and cooked breakfast. Reasonable priced bar. Tribute band very good.

Enjoyable stay at tinto house for reasonable cost would visit again as staff were fantastic and service second to none, food was fantastic. Only criticism I would have would b 3 course dinner was served too quick with little time in between courses and could do with a welcome pack with more communication as this was first time we had stayed and were there for theme night but had to ask times etc

The ballroom was in darkness , we only had light from the one tea light on each table. There was a little light shining through from the room next door, what they need to do is get a dimmer switch on the switch for the wall lights. I did complain but was told I was out voted as a few people had asked for the lights to be put of and the 2chaps singing wanted the lights of to. Very dangerous a bit to dark.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your comments, the problem with the lights was unfortunate and we have looked into rectifying the problems. In future entertainers will bring their own lights or the hotel will put lamps around the room until the old lighting system can be upgraded. We do hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise.

Lovely staff, meal was good too. 3 comedians were funny and acts were well appreciated. 8 of us in 4 double rooms - we really enjoyed our stay. Bedroom 6 was refurbished and so fresh and clean. It was a family room which was a bonus as there were only two of us in it so we all met up there before dinner. All in all, the discounted DBB plus comedy acts was excellent value for money.

Had a great time - lovely large warm room. OK - needs a lick of paint but so does my house! Staff great - food was simple but very well done rather than fancy and average. Lovely peaceful setting with ambient grounds to stroll in. Just a lovely visit! Thanks to the staff.
