Stayed here many times before, rooms have had a makeover, new modern bathroom, shower excellent, Wi-Fi in rooms now, excellent staff, polite nothing to much bother for them, very busy hotel when we were there, Newtonmore away from the hussle/bussle of Aviemore, yet only 20/25 mins to there, also Wildlife Park. Very large lounge area. Heating in rooms excellent. Excellent special deals on throughout Autumn/Winter to suit anything fromB/B to DB/B. Found great 2 nights deal, B/B Dinner on first night, bottle of wine in room for £109 total, for 2 guests, will we going back, yes, we do twice a year.

Stayed here 2 nights on our arrival were given a upstairs room. The first thing you notice is the Hotel could do with some upgrades however our bathroom and shower were excellent and looked recently fitted. Dinner on the Saay night was basic with my wife having the Beef Stroganoff and I had the Fish (Coley) Both the mains were served with cabbage as veg and all food tasted bland. Cant fault the staff as the were all friendly and attentive. Breakfast on the first morning was good with tasty porridge and full breakfast dish. On our morning of departure the breakfast was so different with the Porridge looking like wallpaper paste and the main being not as good as morning before. Yes and the room walls must be made of paper as you could hear everything from the room next door !!!! Don't know if I would return.

Fine budget hotel. Room had new bathroom fittings and recently refurbished. Main hotel getting a little 'tired'. Plenty of food on 'special deal' but only served at specific time with no real choice of time. Everybody served food at same time so felt a bit less personal, but staff very friendly.

Stayed here many times, Excellent Hotel, no faults with service, food, staff etc, Hotel is presently undergoing refurbishment, stayed in a room recently upgraded, new bathroom, shower, etc, use Newtonmore as a base to visit surrounding area, so Hotel well situated. Looking forward to returning in Sept. Friday we stayed Hotel appeared to be booked out. Rooms lovely and warm, and well done cleaning staff, for a thorough job done, each day. No comments to make on TV Reception or wi fi, as we don't use much, go on hols, not to watch telly or use wi fi, and as its the Highlands, reception for both can be patchy.

We had a very enjoyable break, the staff were very good and so was the food, only criticism, not many channels on the TV,especially when you have children with you,but that is minor.

Bedroom was okay - TV very small for size of room. Teabags just left out, not in wrapper. Hairdryer very small. Bathroom - very large, however shower cubicle small no power from shower and door didn't close fully.

Our overnight stay at the Highlander in Newtonmore was fab from start to finish. Very pleasant at the reception when booking in, the room was very clean and tidy with a new bathroom suite fitted. Beds vey comfy. Dinner and breakfast were very good with an excellent choice of menu and the service was second to none. All the staff were very efficient and professional and a special mention for Johnny who looked after our table. Would certainly recommend this hotel for a base for travelling around the district.

All thou the hotel was going through a refit there were some minor problems that once told about they done there best to fix them.i found this hotel was lacling in the standards of which classic Britain normally have we were dissapointed in this. The food at the hotel was ok but not what we are used to with classic britain.in the dining room they used a sweet trolley at your table I found this a little old fashioned The hotel caters more for coach holidays

The bedroom was freshly decorated with new bathroom with high quality fittings, of a good size and with sensible wardrobe / shelving arrangement. The lay out of the hotel means you have to go out in the open to get to reception, dining, sitting is not for the faint hearted in low temperatures. We were on a budget deal and have no complaints except there was too much food of too low quality on the main course of the dinner. Breakfast was simple and acceptable. All the staff worked well especially the chap on reception

Boring tasteless food. Warm friendly hard working waiting & reception staff. Would stay at hotel again but only on room only rate would never eat there again or recommend food.
