Staff friendly, food great, wine prices a bit steep but no biggie, hotel rooms are nice, bathrooms a bit dated but overall a nice cosy hotel.

We have been to this hotel about 15 times over around the last 6/7 years,the last 3 times with yourselves. We really enjoy our time there and find your 2 nights B & B with dinner on 1 night ideal for us.

This hotel has always been a favourite of ours.You just can't beat it for value for money.Staff are always friendly and helpfull. Rooms have been upgraded.

Out of the 2 rooms one was perfect 108 but the other 104 only had a trickle of water from the shower. Despite repeated requests it didn't get any better. In relation to dining (first night)3 of the 4 in our group had a good meal but I had a problem with mine. Despite telling the waitress I was allergic to capsicum peppers (she assured me she had told the chef and I truly believe her) they were included in my black pudding starter. Unfortunately as they were salad at the bottom of the dish I noticed them too late and was poorly through the night. The waitress was mortified and apologised. Such a shame the chef didn't have the manners to apologise! The front line staff at the hotel were super, always polite and helpful. It was great to see the improvements made since we were there last year.

we stayed at the hotel the previous week and the bedroom was at the front of the hotel and was perfect,however on this occasion the bedroom was at the back and near to a very busy motorway and was very noisy all night,we got very little sleep.we would stay again but will request room next time at front.

Marlene and myself have stayed in this hotel quite often, and we find when we book in at reception, the staff are always very curtious and friendly. No qualms about the room and the food is very good with a lot on offer. We are return guests. In fact, on Monday 19th the restaurant manageress came over to our table and said. "It's nice to see you both again." Enough said. As usual, we will be back again in the near future.

The room was small but clean and had everything you needed. For the price we paid it was acceptable. The food on the night was okay but the breakfast was lovely. Staff really friendly and very helpful. We would go again.

Had a lovely stay at Gretna Hall Hotel. Food, service and room were all great. Would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to stay again soon. Would definitely book through classic Britain again.

Stayed for 2 night dinner on 1 night deal . Paid to upgrade to an executive room .Shouldnt have bothered .As much as we had a view of the carpark the noise wasnt minimal .Creaky floor boards and piper out front of hotel .Room was fine but not worth the extra money . Hotel was great to stay in , would definately book again .Staff were polite , friendly and courteous .Couldnt fault them one bit . Breakfast , a buffet , was fine . Had steak pie for dinner , wouldnt bother booking dinner next time , but thats only my opinion . I would recommend this hotel .

Lovely stay for 1night, the staff are lovely and very helpful. Food is of a good standard and very nice choice. The bedrooms and bathrooms are tired and dated and could be doing with an upgrade.

Room good size but could hear occupants above walking round and talking all night. Floorboards to room above squeaky. Room cleaned daily but no change of bed linen or replenishment of toiletries Food good, dinner menu basic but rushed, breakfast excellent. staff very helpful and friendly

We were probably unlucky but booked at last minute DBB. Booking took a while to find when we arrived. Room clean but very boxy and needed window open but a lot of traffic noise from M74. Dinner very average - service good but food more like school dinners. Fire alarm at 1.30 am - that could happen to any hotel but there seemed to be very little organisation and no-one checking room numbers to find out if everyone was outside - very glad it was dry. Allowed back in about 2am, 10 minutes later alarm went again. Breakfast average. Check out - no apology for disrupted night. Would we stay again? No - much better hotels nearby that happened to be full that night. Was it good value? No.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away. It's the second time we have stayed at the hotel, and we have had no problems. The rooms are a little tired, and the hotel starting to look a little tired, however the staff are very helpful and very friendly, and the food is excellent. For the money we paid for our stay I could't fault it, and look forward to our next visit. The Food and Drink Manager, I think his name was Stewart, was excellent at his job, very professional and made us feel welcome and valued. I would like this to be mentioned to the Manager.
