Me and my partner booked a night away to celebrate a birthday, upon arriving the front desk (think it was James) were very friendly and accommodating as we turned up a bit earlier than the sated check in time. We were allocated room 27, decent size room and very spacious bed, the bathroom was clean and tidy although the toilet flusher seemed to be temperamental. unfortunately there was a massive red/orange stain on the carpet which made the room feel a bit grubby considering we paid £152 for a 1 night stay. The Tv that boasted freeview and smart Tv capability was poor as half of the tv channels didn't have reception and the smart Tv aspect didn't work and the Tv wouldn't connect to any internet, unfortunately it was around 1130pm before we tried the tv so didn't see the point asking to change rooms at this time considering it was a 1 night stay. We used the coast restaurant at the hotel where we asked to sit outside the barman took our drinks order after allocating us a table and brought the drink in a very timely manor and advised the waitress would come take the food order, unfortunately it would appear we were forgotten about as close to 50 minutes passed before i returned to the bar to place another drinks order and ask when the waitress would come to take the food order. the barman was very apologetic and the waitress came straight out and took our order, the food was prompt and nice so absolutely no complaints there, pricing wasn't to bad for the food but the bar is slightly overpriced with a pint of lager roughly £6/£6.50 and a tail around £10. Finally while there we made use of the driving range and spa, the staff in the café were very friendly and helpful and had a lovely selection of cakes, the driving range its self could use a little maintenance just to tidy the place up. The spa was one of the most disappointing parts of our stay and was unfortunately the main reason we booked the Gailes, clean changing rooms with nice spacious showers but when booking we were looking forward to the use of the vitality pool, sauna and steam room. unfortunately the vitality pool was closed for maintenance that we weren't told about until we went to use the spa. The steam room was big and appeared clean as did the sauna, the expericance was ruined by other spa guests, not sure if they were day users or members but the spa boasted a quite relaxing atmosphere ect however there were large groups being loud and users on the spa lying on the loungers have phone conversations so it was pretty hard to relax and enjoy the benefits. overall it was ok, wouldn't book again in a hurry and would try the other spa's in the area first before returning as for the whole day/night spending just under £300 we left feeling it wasn't great/good value. room and use of the spa - £152 dinner and drinks - £110 golf (200 balls and hire of 2 clubs) - £26

Average stay to be honest. The room was OK apart from the flush on the toilet not working. Asked at reception for someone to check this while we were out at dinner and they didn't. Fire alarm went off through the night so had to be evacuated. Breakfast the next morning, weren't shown to a table of drinks or food order taken, staff member pointed to a table and said you can take that one. We had to ask about ordering food and coffees. Wouldn't return

The room was quite lovely. Ample space to get around, big comfortable bed, room temperature just right and although facing the car park and main road there was very little noise. The only down side was very little clothing space, a few more drawers would have been good. We stayed for breakfast which was lovely. Fresh ingredients ( you could tell by the taste), helpful staff and with a decent view either front or back you could not go wrong. The choice favoured the discerning traveller Scottish as well as others tastes being taken into account. Set up for families as well as adult only travellers. For our second day breakfast we had the pleasure of sitting out the back with a view over a pond, back of the golf area, trees with local wild life and the sun was shining. Close look now for getting out and about for the golf or seaside. We would recommend this hotel to other's.

Lovely Hotel, very friendly, attentive staff and great food. We didn’t use the Spa facilities as we arrived a bit later, but we would definitely go back again

A warm welcome when we arrived by a very pleasant receptionist. Our room very modern, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The huge bed extremely comfy. We used the spa facilities which again couldn't be faulted. Our meal in the evening of which we had lentil soup, vegetable pakora, chicken and haggis and salmon was excellent with good size portions. Restaurant staff very pleasant and attentive. Breakfast in the morning had a good selection of fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries and the menu for the cooked was very comprehensive. We both had the smoked haddock with poached eggs which we thoroughly enjoyed. Again very pleasant and helpful waiting staff, All in all a very nice stay

Up for a golfing weekend, everything was as it should be for a very reasonable price. We had a huge and well appointed suite for one night ( double Jacuzzi bath, sauna for 6, double walk in shower, lounge area and colossal bed ) and a "normal" double for another . . .not quite so huge but beautifully appointed. The staff were particularly helpful at all times Food in the restaurant was very good with a good choice for all palettes. The course was good and range facility useful for us irregulars !

My husband and I recently visited the Gailes hotel and we certainly were not disappointed. From the minute we walked through the door we were made more than welcome. All staff were very welcoming and efficient. We arrived at our room and again were really delighted. It was very modern spacious and comfortable. A lovely large television with a good number of channels and a great comfortable bed. Equally the toilet was beautiful with everything one would need while away from home. In the evening the service in the restaurant was first class and food really delicious. We really enjoyed everything. After a good nights sleep we went for breakfast and again same efficiency and lovely variety of food done to perfection. All in all a great time with n o complaints. Many thanks to a lovely dedicated staff for helping to make our stay so lovely.

I visited this hotel with my husband for an overnight stay. The rooms are lovely and spacious, modern decor and comfy bed. The staff at reception and the service staff we bumped into in the hall were friendly and pleasant. We ate lunch in the restaurant, mug of soup and steak sandwich. Both of which were warm and tasty. We ate dinner at another restaurant, purely through choice. Breakfast the following morning was good, some cereals and fruit on offer plus variety of cooked options made to order. My only complaint was the spa. There is a big jacquizzi, sauna and steam room, which were all well maintained, however there wasn't much space in the actual spa, and no pool which was a shame. The girl working at spa reception was lovely and there was option of treatments Which I would arrange next time. I will return again.
