Felt the hotel was very run down, room was in need of an upgrade ie tiles in bathroom were broken and taps did not work properly, staff were friendly, breakfast was a disappointment as the scrambled eggs were like the powder kind and not made from real eggs and also they were swimming in water. Being a 4* hotel it also had no air conditioning which if it truly was very hot I struggle to think how warm the room would be.

Hotel wasvery good, could not fault anything about our stay, room was clean and quiet, and the girl who serviced our floor 5 level was friendly and helpful. Brian at reception was extremely friendly and helpful, as was the bar manager, and all staff seemed to be happy to go that extra mile for you. No queuing at breakfast which was also very good. Was a little worried at the amount of Stag and Hen parties that arrived, but there was no problem with that at all.

Staff very pleasant and helpful,room clean however there was an unpleasant aroma when you entered room,a damp smell. The public areas were clean and pleasant. Breakfast was disappointing,looked as if cooked items had been under heatlamps for too long. Evening meal was cold on both nights even although I asked a member of staff to heat my meal up it returned cold.A bit disappointing overall I am afraid to say

Had a great night,nice tidy hotel,good breakfast,was well looked after by the staff.we have already booked to stay again.Scott checked us in and Ben looked after us in the bar,both made us feel welcome and were very informative about the hotel and area around.

the room was not clean anuf fingerprint on mirrors and the floor not hovered out off 2 rooms we had where given 1 room and it was not clean then we complaninted and got moved to a different room and the mirrors wasn't clean

Great benefits that came with the room and around £50 cheaper than the same room on another booking site. Pay on the day is always an advantage. Only negative was the check in/out times didn't align with the hotels and we had housekeeping come into our room at 10.55 when our check out was supposed to be midday.

Generally a pleasant stay but we didn’t need the room with disabled facilities with low sinks and bath being a minor annoyance. Also in the bathroom the toilet paper is much too thin and grouting around the room looked as though I had done it! A hoover with more suction would have possibly given a better look to the carpet. Breakfasts were adequate offering the usual fayre.l Staff were very friendly and helpful although staff numbers on reception and the bemed to outnumber customers from my observations. Prosecco and coffee definitely a nice touch. Would return if in ‘the Toon’ again.

Hotel was clean and all the staff were friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Bathroom in need of some TLC but room it’s self was presentable. I would say double bed rather on the small size. Overall a positive experience

Lovely clean hotel, had a wonderful stay. Unfortunately had to ask for extras that were part of my stay.Had to show confirmation booking of Prosecco which I expected to be in my room. No added coffee which I had to ask for. Breakfast was brilliant. Had dinner which was excellent, service was a bit chaotic but think that was due to bar being updated. Overall a wonderful stay and definitely recommend the hotel.

Nice hotel, it is getting a bit dated in the rooms, but they were clean and tidy. Staff were great, nothing was a problem to them. Will book again.

Much better than expectation for the price paid. Really enjoyed our stay Staff were friendly got a good upgrade and the location is very central near the railway station. Didn't have a car so can't comment on the parking but easy walk to city centre. Front desk staff especially good. Would stay again and recommend

Room was great very comfortable and large - bathroom quite clinical but spotless -tea and coffee facilities were good and water provided and temperature was good - breakfast was a bit chaotic and there was a delay in replenishing food and tables being set but maybe been at a busy time

Location is great, easy to get to town centre and train station. Spacious lobby - perfect for waiting friends. Breakfast is good, a lot of choices on offer. Bar is good.
