The rolling hills and verdant valleys of Dumfries & Galloway have some of  Scotland's finest attractions therefore this is an abundance of things to see and do in this popular visitor destination. It also helps that this is the mildest part of Scotland and this anomaly has enabled many famous gardens to flourish.

Castle Douglas
Affectionately known as the Food Town, Castle Douglas has a wealth of independent shops offering plenty of local produce.

Threave Castle & Gardens
Archibald the Grim’s massive tower house, built in 1369 as a stronghold for the Black Douglases, stands 30m tall. Threave gardens include a working walled garden, a rock garden, several ponds and water features

Loch Ken
With sailing, canoeing, paddle boarding, as well as mountain biking and other land-based activities there's plenty to do for young and old.
