Things to see & do in Dinnet
From the shore of Loch Kinord, the 9th century Kinord Stone can be seen. It is said to be the finest example of a Celtic symbol stone and reflects the rich and ancient history of the area.
Loch Kinord also boasts an Iron Age crannog or man-made island that dates back to the first millennium AD situated behind Castle Island. Castle Island was once a royal stronghold dating back to the 11th century and the days of MacBeth, who was a real king of Scotland and not just a Shakespearian character.
The Muir of Dinnet Nature Reserve is worth a visit when staying in this area, as you can often spot ospreys and otters
