Cirencester (locally know as the Capital of the Cotswolds) was the second largest town in Britain during the Roman times.
Cirencester Park Cirencester Park is open to the public free of charge, for visitors on foot and on horseback by kind permission of The Trustees of the Earl's Fund and the 9th Earl and Countess Bathurst.
For information on the towns history with the Romans a visit to the Corinium Museum is well worth the visit.
Cirencester's location, near Bibury, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold etc, makes it an ideal base for visitors wishing to tour the Cotswolds.
