Riverside Lodge Hotel, Irvine

Room and bathroom was clean but need updating, hotel can’t control the weather but we couldn’t open the window because of the birds nest in the canopy above it so it was particularly hot overnight, food was tasty, drinks took forever to come so ended up taking them back to the room as meals were finished by the time they arrived

When we arrived I was stood waiting for 10/15 mins to be seen. We weren’t told we had to book dinner as it’s included in the offer so we were told at reception they only had 8.45pm as the earliest time, the receptionist then told us we could go down earlier and see what they could do for us- no issue. We went down around 5.45pm and the manager walked past us several times blatantly ignoring us, one of the other workers came over to ask if we had a reservation and tried to offer bar menu only in the bar or outdoors, having to check with the manager who again I would say was not pleasant. A random fire alarm went off at 7.50.pm which we weren’t told about any drills but it had gone off within a few seconds. We then went down for dinner at reserved time and sat in the bar for one drink before going into the restaurant part, which I had a black short hair in my drink so my husband took it back to the bar and got a fresh one. The food was amazing in the restaurant, we decided to go for the full menu and just paid the extra on our deal - I would definitely be back to eat in the restaurant again! The room was very basic, and when we woke up the next morning my neck and head was quite sore as the pillows were quite hard, the bed wasn’t comfortable either - I think if I booked again I would pay extra for an upgrade. The reception area was stunning just things didn’t plan out smoothly for us unfortunately.

We had a lovely time at this hotel. The room was basic but had everything we needed. The staff were polite & helpful. The highlight was the food. It was delicious! We are already planning our next stay! Thank you! ?

Enjoyed a lovely overnight stay in Sunday 5th May for my husband birthday. The place is absolutely beautiful very relaxing food & staff were lovely. Breakfast was amazing too can not fault anything about it will definitely be back

Food was absolutely delish. Twisted haggis is one of the best starters I've ever had. Been raving about the buffet breakfast to family & friends since I've stayed there. The rump steak was presented really well. Room was lovely.

I found the name quite misleading as there was no river views asit was located in middle of a housing estate nowhere near by and our room looked upon the garden of houses plus found the customer service bit poor at dinner and breakfast staff uninterested and the dinner inclusive offer was different on the night for options so unfortunately wouldn't return although room was nice and clean and restaurant modern enough. My husband asked reception if bar was open when he went to collect takeaway as was still gry from the meal and was told go and as them yourself which was quite poor also.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights dinner the first night with a complimentary bottle of wine and two breakfasts. Our room was on the ground floor with 2 double beds looking out onto the grounds which have been designed for outdoor weddings etc. Our first day was benefited with glorious sunshine ,the staff and their service was always pleasant and cheery. Food also was very tasty and we'll presented. This was our second visit and we would be happy for a third.

This was the 7th time we have stayed at this lovely Hotel. It just feels like a home from Home. Everything about it is amazing, from the Welcome you receive at reception, to the cleanliness to the excellent food, lovely comfortable and clean rooms. The Garden rooms are amazing. Staff are all lovely, nothing is a problem.

Fantastic value for money wee booked the db&b deal with a bottle of wine in room although a small selection on a set menu didn’t take our fancy wee opted for the full main menu instead
